Advising our client in connection with a multimillion civil fraud claim in the USA

We advised our client, a projects and infrastructure investment group, in connection with the defence of a multimillion litigation in the New Jersey Courts in the USA.

The claim was a multi-jurisdictional action brought by receivers of a group of companies in the USA arising from a fraud of over $100 million from investors for purported investment in sophisticated securities trading strategies, which involved transactions with legitimate businesses such as our clients.

The proceedings in the USA against our clients were issued and sought a seven-figure sum from our clients. We worked very closely with US lawyers, Counsel, expert accountants, and others to protect our clients’ position in both jurisdictions and reached a satisfactory settlement of the matter.
