Defending an unfair prejudice petition involving a family business

We represented the Respondents (mother and daughter) to defend proceedings brought by the Petitioner (the daughter and sister of our clients) in the Business and Property Courts of the High Court.

The company was a family run property holding company based in North London, which owned multi million pounds worth of commercial property in the city of London. The Petitioner issued an unfair prejudice petition against our clients, alleging that she had been prevented from working for and running the company. We advised and strategically guided our clients through the litigation process.

We successfully assisted our clients to negotiate a full and final resolution of the proceedings by means of Alternative Dispute Resolution, resulting in a clean break between the parties that seek to avoid any satellite disputes arising in the future. To facilitate the negotiations and settlement of the matter, we also acted for and advised a related company in which our clients had an interest in.
