Instructing experts in relation to pensions and foreign assets on divorce

Anna has been acting for a client in financial proceedings. The client is financially vulnerable, having predominantly been reliant on their spouse’s financial support during the marriage. The parties have both contributed to the development of a property portfolio in the UK and abroad throughout the marriage. Anna has led the instruction of various experts to advise on the valuation of foreign assets and possible tax consequences of their disposal in both in the UK and abroad. Anna has also assisted in the instruction of an actuary to report on the sharing of the parties’ pension assets. The proceedings have been highly contested and Anna has recently been successful in securing a costs order in her client’s favour.
