Practical steps to prepare for employers
Date: Wednesday 13 May 2026
Time: 11:00am – 12:15pm
Online: Microsoft Teams
The Employment Rights Act 2025 is the biggest shake-up of workplace law in decades. Some of its changes are already in force. Others come in later this year. And the most significant reforms – including a dramatic cut to the unfair dismissal qualifying period and the removal of the compensation cap for unfair dismissal – take effect in January 2027.
The penalties for getting things wrong are going up. A brand new enforcement agency is now watching. And the window to prepare is narrowing. In this webinar, we will focus on the practical steps you need to be taking, starting with what needs thinking about now and finishing with what’s on the horizon for 2027. Topics we will cover includes:
• Statutory sick pay
• Day One paternity and parental leave
• Collective redundancies
• Sexual harassment whistleblowing
• The Fair Work Agency
• Third-party harassment
• All reasonable steps – sexual harassment
• Tribunal claim time limits
• Unfair dismissal qualification period
• Fire and rehire
• Casual and shift workers
