We are a leading law firm with a nationally recognised Tier 1 Court of Protection & Deputyship team based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Consistently ranked Band 1 by Chambers and The Legal 500 for Court of Protection work, our team is highly regarded for providing sensitive, practical and expert advice in matters relating to the Court of Protection, deputyships, personal injury trusts, statutory wills and lasting powers of attorney. We deal regularly with cases involving acquired brain injury and large personal injury awards, working collaboratively across departments and with external professionals to secure the best outcomes for vulnerable clients.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Court of Protection Partner to help to lead and grow our specialist practice. You will play a senior role within our Court of Protection team, with responsibility for managing a high-value and complex caseload, developing client relationships, supervising junior lawyers, and contributing to strategic business development.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-quality, complex Court of Protection matters within a collaborative and client-focused team environment. There is genuine scope to build meaningful, long-term relationships with vulnerable clients and their families, contribute to best-practice standards, and play an influential role in the continued development and reputation of the Court of Protection practice.
This role offers hybrid working to support flexibility alongside regular collaboration and presence in our Tunbridge Wells office.
What we are looking for
- Qualified Solicitor with substantial post-qualification experience (typically 8+ years) specialising in Court of Protection work.
- Demonstrable experience handling complex deputyship cases and matters involving clients with brain injuries
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and developing a team
- Excellent legal judgement and expertise in Mental Capacity Act 2005, Court of Protection Rules and deputyship practice
- Strong client care and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with vulnerable clients and their families
- Proven ability to contribute to business development and client retention.
