Anthony Morton

Anthony is a banking and finance lawyer who has significant expertise in Corporate M&A and Real Estate Finance. He has extensive experience of working with lenders and borrowers across a range of complex banking and finance transactions both domestic and international. He advises on work across the capital structure  including corporate finance, leveraged acquisition finance, asset-based lending, structured  finance, debt finance, secured lending, refinancings, restructurings, MBOs and private equity.

Before joining Thomson Snell & Passmore in September 2025, he spent a number of years with Pinsent Masons as a partner in its banking and finance practice, where he advised on cross border financing and international projects, with predominantly London-based clients. Prior to that he spent six years at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP in both London and Frankfurt, as well as time at US law firm Milbank LLP and Magic Circle firms Linklaters LLP and Allen & Overy LLP (now A&O Shearman).

Advising Urban Gym Group on the financing related to the acquisition of Gymbox.

Advising the shareholders in respect of the financing arrangements related to the MBO of Taylor Made Joinery Interiors Limited.

Advising on multiple recapitalisations of an existing leveraged financing capital structures.

Advising the borrower in respect of the restructuring of a glass fibre infra-company (The Netherlands and Germany) and on a Dutch WHOA scheme.

Advising Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Limited on a GBP600m infrastructure financing to be used to for electrification of its vehicles.

Advising a UK mid-cap borrower on its unitranche financing.

Advising the lender in respect a debt restructuring of a major UK brewery.

Advising the borrower on the side-by-side US$325m offering of senior secured high yield notes and a super senior RCF (across 21 jurisdictions).

Advising the Carlyle Group in respect of the acquisition of a clinics business.

Advising the Carlyle Group on the financing for the acquisition out of insolvency.

Advising J.P. Morgan on the GBP50m sustainability linked loan financing to Mace Finance Limited (first UKEF backed SLL).

Advising a UK property developer in respect of a GBP425m green loan.

Education

Anthony received a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Brunel University, a Corporate & Commercial Law Masters, degree (LLM) from the University of London and completed the Corporate Finance Programme at the London Business School.

Anthony trained and then qualified at Wilde Sapte  in 1997 and has worked at Allen & Overy LLP, Linklaters LLP, Milbank LLP and as a Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP and Pinsent Masons LLP prior to joining Partnership at Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2025.
