Jessica Austin

Jessica graduated from university with a Bachelor of Laws in 2023. Prior to joining Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2025, Jessica worked as a Court of Protection Paralegal in a Kent based firm.

Jessica’s experience focuses on working with clients who have brain injuries (both acquired and traumatic), and their families. She appreciates working with vulnerable clients and their families to achieve the best interests of the client.

Specialisms & expertise

  • Managing the property and financial affairs of clients with brain injuries (including cerebral palsy) and elderly clients
  • Collaborating closely with family members, case managers, care teams, and investment advisors of individuals
  • Managing high value damages awards, arising from personal injury and clinical negligence claims. As well as managing the estates of elderly clients.
  • Working in the client’s best interests with a view to focus on the sustainability and longevity of funds
  • Monitoring vulnerable client’s bank accounts, identifying any unusual activity, and making further investigation
  • Preparing applications to the Court of Protection
  • Liaising with benefit agencies for clients with regards to applications and ongoing entitlement
  • Producing annual reports of client accounts for submission to the Office of the Public Guardian
  • Liaising with Local Authorities regarding direct payments

Types of client

Jessica works with clients who have brain injuries (both acquired and traumatic) and elderly clients with conditions that cause cognitive impairment.

Education

Jessica graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Bachelor of Laws in 2023.
