Karin Baker - Thomson Snell & Passmore

Karin is a paralegal in our specialist Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury department. She assists on a wide variety of cases, including high value brain injury cases, and those involving substandard surgery and misdiagnosis. Karin has experience in attending and assisting with inquests and expert conferences.

Karin joined Thomson Snell & Passmore from another firm of solicitors, building on her experience assisting with personal injury claims and conducting her own Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims. Karin has previously been a legal secretary specialising in clinical negligence litigation and is now building on the initial paralegal experience she had gained in her previous firm. Karin is able to liaise and empathise and is acutely aware of how distressing it is for anyone who has suffered a medical accident.

Education

Karin has worked in law for over 25 years, originally working for a Trade Union Law Firm conducting her own caseload of criminal injuries compensation claims as a Legal Assistant. Karin decided to obtain her Legal Secretarial course whilst working at this firm. Karin was keen to move into clinical negligence and carried out the role as legal secretary in a local firm. Karin then progressed as a Paralegal which is where she finds herself today.
